Provision of environmental engineering expertise, particularly in the areas of coastal engineering and oceanography, hydrology both surface and subsurface, environmental fluid dynamics, hydraulics and geophysical fluid dynamics, environmental modelling, hydrobiological process, contaminant dynamics, sustainable development and water and waste water treatment; conducting field studies, laboratory work, scientific research, contract research relating to water quality problems from the deep sea ocean through the hydrological cycle with equal emphasis on estuaries, lakes, surface and ground water hydrology and planning aspects of environmental engineering and science; investigating, developing and transferring solutions for water quality problems, develop software packages that will model and simulate water quality parameters
