Sporting activity: Kids Marathon is a sporting event where school age children run "a marathon" over an 8 week period, averaging approximately 5km per week, before participating in the final kilometre/s of the 42.195km marathon on race day; they will cross the official marathon finish line on race day; the children will receive log books to diarise their progress and will be encouraged to raise money for charity as well; the concept will be introduced to marathons throughout Australia
